LEO Zero-Tolerance Policy

LEO Industrial Services maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy for drug and alcohol use in the workplace. No employee may report to work, remain on site, or operate equipment while impaired by any substance — including legal prescription drugs that impair performance. Violations result in immediate removal and may result in termination.

Testing Program

LEO conducts drug and alcohol testing under the following triggers: Pre-employment, Post-accident (any recordable injury or near-miss), Reasonable suspicion, Return-to-duty after policy violation, and Random testing. Refusal to test is treated as a positive result. Testing is conducted by a certified collection site using DOT-approved methods.

Reasonable Suspicion

Any supervisor who observes signs of impairment must remove the employee from duty and arrange testing within 2 hours. Signs include: slurred speech, glassy eyes, unsteady gait, disorientation, unusual behavior, or the odor of alcohol. Document observations in writing. Safety is the priority — do not let peer pressure delay action.

Return to Duty

An employee who violates the drug and alcohol policy must: complete a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) evaluation, complete required treatment, pass a return-to-duty test (negative), and comply with a follow-up testing schedule (minimum 6 tests in 12 months). The SAP process is confidential — the employer only receives clearance status.
